> LANSING – The Michigan Senate Democratic Caucus, represented by Detroit Sen. Bert Johnson, will join Kalamazoo school board member Mark Totten in holding a town hall meeting on the future of school funding in Michigan.

> The 7 to 8:30 p.m. forum is set for Oct. 3 at the Linden Grove Middle School, 4241 Arboretum Parkway on Kalamazoo's west side.

> Organizers of the event say state funding for education is one of the most important issues facing the Michigan Legislature.
