So far, I have plans for that day--regretfully! But you may be sure I'm with you in spirit. I do happen to know of a rather good vetting process, btw. :)

Great!  This is not a SW Michigan Patriots or an Alliance event, but we want to gather anyone who is interested in forming a state wide committee to vet and then support one TEA Party candidate in the Primary and then the General election.

Any one interested or thinks that this would be a good idea is welcome to attend.  We have several good candidates to pick from, so the choice will be difficult.

Gene,

We in the Ingham County area have a TPP Town Hall on the 16th so I can let folks know about this event.

Hello All,

One of the greatest challenges to the TEA Party movement in Michigan over the rest of this election cycle is to replace the current progressive Senator Stabenaw with a fiscally conservative and constitutionally correct Senator. We would like to see if we can unite the TEA Party forces in the state behind one candidate.

There are several candidates currently campaigning and they have visited many TEA Party groups as well as GOP functions over the summer to date. As we all know, Pete Hoekstra just threw his hat in the ring but he has not started actively campaigning other than in the west side of the state.

On August 20th we will be addressed by Clark Durant, who may also be a candidate. We are inviting as many TEA Party people from around the state as possible to attend and meet him. He will appear from 11am until 12 noon. It is our plan to take a break for a pizza lunch and then start a conversation about how to accomplish the above goal.

I have invited Cindy Gamrat, a TEA Party organizer who moved here from Indiana last fall. She has been in contact with the group of about 40 TEA Party organizations in Indiana who have organized a campaign in support of a senatorial candidate that they have agreed to all support. Cindy will share the insights from their efforts to date.

I have no preconceived notions on how to proceed (indeed, I am immersed in the Grassroots efforts right now). My hope is to facilitate a meeting of the minds on the 20th so that we can begin the discussion. Hopefully this will take on a life of its' own and a core group of interested activists can begin to form.

We need to know how many will attend. Please go to the following web page and register for the meeting (Here). We need your response by Thursday the 18th at the latest. We will take up a collection to help pay the room and lunch costs which most likely will be $10 or less per person.

The meeting will take place at the Capital City Baptist Church, 5100 Willoughby Road, Holt MI.

Hope to see you there. Please email or call with any questions.
