Keynote Speaker will be Sarah Palin.

On Saturday, July 14, Rattle With Us, the Western Washtenaw TEA Party, and the Willow Run Tea Party Caucus will be co-hosting a HUGE event with Americans for Prosperity. This event will be held at the Wayne County Fairgrounds (10871 Quirk Road, Belleville, MI 48111) from 12pm-6pm and the proceeds will be going to the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund, an all-volunteer Michigan charity serving Michigan soldiers and their families. The event is free, although there will be a $5 parking fee.

AFP has promised a top-level, nationally-known key-note speaker (names such as Sarah Palin and Judge Andrew Napolitano have been mentioned). Additionally, we will have Thayrone as emcee and local speakers such as Rev. Levon Yuille, Dave Janda, and Terry Bowman as well as Scott Hagerstrom from AFP. Each TP which co-sponsors the event will also be given time to speak about their TP. The speakers will be on-going from 2 to 6 PM.

Throughout the day, there will be concessions and activities available for children (hot-air balloon rides, moon walks, douse-the-politician, free-throw contests, etc.). Tickets may be purchased for reasonably-priced refreshments or events. Also, there will be candidates on hand and groups providing information at tables available for $100 each.

We are kicking off The Van Buren Tea Party and are hopeful of having many joiners as well as recruiting many write-in precinct delegates so we can bring TP values to the Wayne County GOP.

Given the anticipated draw of a nationally-known speaker and the lack of cover charge, we are expecting a crowd in the thousands. We need dozens of volunteers to help us with such things as food prep and concessions, ticket sales, events, parking, set-up and breakdown, clean-up, AV, tables, etc. We need leaders and volunteers. Any TP will be designated a co-sponsor if they bring us 10 volunteers or if they donate $100 for a table or if they bring us someone who donates $100 for a table. Any co-sponsoring TP will have their own table for promotion as well as an opportunity to speak about their TP.

We need as many leaders and volunteers as you can send us. Please help us make this a magnificent day for our MI soldiers and for our area TPs and let's get the Van Buren TP off to a rousing start.
