Southwest MI Patriots

Liberty and Freedom

I would like to ask about the Tea Party stance on separation of church and state.

I support most of the Tea Party views and also a Precinct Delegate. Problem is I feel like I will be lynched at a Tea Party Gathering due to my Wiccan beliefs. I respect all other beliefs but I sometimes feel like the black sheep.

Heh, one person at about the first meeting was pro-life Wiccan. I was raised Methodist in community churches, but I hung out and partied with Wiccans when I was 18-20. I'm back to Christian beliefs: not born again, but believing (eccentrically visible now and again).

Separation of church and state is peanut butter to the jelly that is Separation of State and Economy. I work 3rd shift, or I would offer to attend with you.

Thank you Peter, See I am not the "party wiccan" type which is what many local groups may of imaged themselves after.

I agree with the constitution and do believe that our economy is not based on states. I hope that is ratified to its original intent soon!

Hi Ethan,

My name is Bill Beck and I was recently elected President of the VanKal TEA Party Patriots for 2012.  This organization is all about the preservation of Constitutional rights - among which, as you know, is the freedom of religious expression.  You will find that the TEA Party is overwhelmingly Christian in its membership but I'm certain that you will not be persecuted for your beliefs in any way.  Under the umbrella of Christianity are many, many different religious sects, which have in the past not always seen eye to eye.  The threats that we face as a nation will require that we stand united, regardless of how we pray, to keep our way of life viable.  As long as we keep that in mind, I'm very certain that there will be room for you and everyone else to participate.  We've got much work to do, and we need all the patriots we can gather to get it done.  Welcome to VanKal TPP.

I'll soon be sending a notice of our next meeting in January, so please look for it and join us on Thursday, January 5th for dinner and the meeting.

Thanks for joining - I'll look forward to meeting you next month for sure.

Bill

It's the philosophy not the religion.  Free Mason's created our document of freedom not religion.  Many of the laws on the books are religion based.  I put my faith in science not Jesus Christ, however I respect the Cristian phillosophy.  I believe in God; not a mystical God, but rather a real living God proven by the very nature of science itself.  For instance; Quantum entanglement theory supports prayer.  Religion dogmatism and going to hell scare tactics keep many from embracing the Christian philosiphy.  I have not attended VanKal meetings lately; frankly the last few times, have been a waste of my time.  I started out enthused and that dwindled for various reasons.  I may or may not attend the next meeting.
