Liberty and Freedom
I was reading the Contract from America and wondering why there is no mention of ending the FED to take away control of our money from private bankers? In my opinion that is the source of power which is being used to control the media and our government. As long as that power source is in place we are just spitting into the wind if we expect to stop the drain of freedom.

After all this IS a group who supports FREEDOM for everyone !
Did you watch the video I posted?
Permalink Reply by Gary Lewis on January 25, 2012 at 11:11pm Yes it does appear that the Tea Party and Ron Paul share many of the same ideas, but the Tea Party does not have a candidate for President. That does not seem confusing to me.
My urgency for Ron Paul is because I believe that elimnation of the private control of our money and the ultimate power it puts in that hands of a few unelected individuals is the necessary first step in recovering our freedoms, and he is the only candidate who has said he will eliminate it and has a record which has demonstrated he is true to his word. Actions speak louder than words.

Thanks Janet, it does look like the John Birch Society does advocate ending the Fed. This is why I'm confused why people that are, I'll say diehard Ron Paul supporters (and that's fine, we all have our people we like) are involved with the Tea Party. I just figured that there is already a group out there that supports a good portion of the Ron Paul agenda. Why not latch on to them?
Sorry Gary I didn't reply directly to your comment. The reason why I'm reluctant is that if I disagree with any of the Ron Paul supporters I will get drowned out with sometimes, not always, distasteful comments. What I have found is that if I disagree (and I'm not saying I disagree on this issue) that I am labeled a war mongering neo-con.
I'm not sure ending the Fed is the right thing to do, but there definitively needs to be more transparency.
Permalink Reply by Gary Lewis on January 25, 2012 at 11:22pm Thanks for your examples that show the truth of the title of my discussion. They are at the lowest level of goverment. The contol of our entire monetary system by private banks gives them ultimate power at the highest level. That can never yield personal freedom.

Mayer Amschel Rothschild"The eyes of our citizens are not sufficiently open to the true cause of our distress.
They ascribe them to everything, but their true cause, the BANKING SYSTEM; a system, which, if it could do good in any form, is yet so certain of LEADING TO ABUSE, as to be utterly incompatible with the public safety and prosperity.
I sincerely believe that banking establishments are MORE DANGEROUS than standing armies; and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but SWINDLING FUTURITY on a large scale."
Thomas Jefferson. It is a fact that money controls everything and that as a nation we have no money only debt. In agreement with you lets look closely at how the system works outside the banking industry at the most local levels. Village and townships receive nearly all of their funding from local taxes, mostly property taxes. These taxes are broken into milages which are allocated to various sources, schools, police, fire, local services. When these municipalities overspend, they raise taxes or cut services, but there is a grwing use of alternative sources of money known as federal/ state grants. This money in not simply given, but must be applied for.. requested to say the least. So without much thought politicians, especially those who love to spend , apply for this "free" money. Sadly there is no such thing. A great example would be a boat launch parking lot here in my Town of New Buffalo.
Several years ago some politician took the advice of the parks superintendent and requested a grant fron the US dept of Agriculture for funds to pave the boat launch parking lot. I believe it was about 50,000 at the time.
Before the paving took place the lot was the exclusive property of the City of New Buffalo. The city utilized this lot for boat launchings and overflow beach parking and charged a fee for both.
After the paving took place the city attempted to do what it had done for years , but the fed stepped in and told the city that it could now only be used as a boat launch and only for parking of the vehicles from which boats were towed in and that the city could no longer charge. Funny how that "grant" affected the status of that property.
All grants have strings attached, the provider of this money set the rules as does the provider of the money congress spends. The creation of fiat money by a private cartel was a problem with the founders and so they ended the Charter of the First Bank of the United States. Andrew Jackson was another , who knew what a central bank was doing to the nation and fought tooth and nail to kill the Second Bank and proudly proclaims this on his tombstone, but the Creature from Jekyll Island known as the federal reserve has become the monstrosity swallowing up this nation and its resources. To the bankers, third time's a charm.
At another local level, Berrien County officials look at federal grants as a pool of money and apply and request outside money quite frequently, The purchase of the latest Sheriff's armoured vehicle came mostly from federal funds (DHS) The latest boat (whirlpool and other grants) and yet the Sheriff told me he is not beholding to anyone.. IS that like congress and the administration is not beholding to the fed? BTW Gary, you were attacked because of Ron Paul.. we all are getting to know how he feels and what he has dealt with for 30 years.

That's what I was thinking....Why don't you explain why you don't support Ron Paul? Most people here don't support Ron Paul. They support more war, torture, bailouts, federal reserve printing money, unconstitutional government, the patriot act, assassinating U.S. citizens, United Nations giving us marching orders, George Bush, The TSA Groping children, muslim hate, loss of civil liberties, etc...About the only thing they don't support is Obama eventhough he's maintaining everything Bush did. Most people here are brainwashed.

One that will fight for my freedom and stop interfering in my life and choices I make and I will vote for them instead. Which one would that be?

Just anohter example of how out of touch these people are with reality............They aren't happy with destroying our sphere but now are already working on another one ........LOL
It's not enough that our Country is going to hell in a hand bag but NOW we are going to start building on the moon ...........! How in the H#*@ can we afford THAT ?................."Oh that's right, just print more money"...................Why don't people understand that WE DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY ? ......................"Oh that's right, just print more money"...............We need bridges, roads, damns, JOBS,........... ......................".Oh that's right, just print more money"................We have to rebuild the countries that we just bombed the crap out of................"Oh that's right, just print more money."...............We don't have a secure border but protect the borders of other countries..................Oh that's right, print more money.............Is there a pattern here ?.................. Both sides of the isle SPEND on anything an everything they can, without considering the outcome then go to the Federal Reserve for money............The money is "counterfeit" ! ............If the citizens did this we would be arrested and put behind bars !.........(((((Definition of Counterfeit: Made in imitation as something genuine so as to deceive or defraud, pretend, feign))))).....................We do not have the gold OR assets to back the MONEY being printed !............This destroys the value of our dollar !
Permalink Reply by Gary Lewis on January 26, 2012 at 11:41am And this may be well intentioned by some in their bliss of ignorance. But for the FED's private owners it is the source of their ever growing wealth and ability to buy influence and rule the world. Ending the FED is not an issue, it is the most important and first issue.
