Protest Joe Biden In Kalamazoo Friday June 12th at Loy Norrix High School?

Hey Patriots ... Jack Hoogendyk just called me and told me about this just announced photo-op that Joe Biden is doing in Kalamazoo on Friday. He knows it is short notice, but thought it would be a good idea to send a message about how Granholm and the Democrats have "Blown Away" Michigan.

If we could muster a group to hold signs outside Loy Norrix or at the airport it would get us some immediate media attention and help to blunt the propaganda machine that is fueling the socialist make-work movement. I guess Senators Stabanow and Levin and Gov. Ganholm and the whole gang or thieves will be in attendance. My only question is ... will Upton have his smiling face on the stage with them too?

Anyhow, it should be a nice day for it. Make some signs and bring the kids. Let's see if we can make the news.

(Detroit News)

LANSING -- Free tickets are available to join Vice President Joe Biden at a Kalamazoo event highlighting road work being done along Interstate 94 with federal recovery money. Biden will be at the event at Loy Norrix High School at 10:45 a.m. Friday.

A limited number of tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the school’s main office. The trip is part of a two-day swing for Biden that starts Thursday in Pennsylvania and Kansas and highlights construction projects undertaken with the help of the federal funds.

After attending the Michigan event at the high school, Biden will talk at the Kalamazoo airport about communities affected by the auto industry, including many in Michigan.

Darn! I don't think I could get a babysitter, that would be wicked fun right there.
June 12th or July 10th? Sounds like a good idea though.
well, looks like it this Friday. I have a lab during the event or I would be there-bummer.
I think it's a good idea. Good luck.
I have invited the Grand Rapids and Lansing Tea party groups to join us, and have asked what is left of the Republican Party to get involved if they are interested. If we can get more than 25-30 people to commit I believe it will be worth it, however if we are only a couple of people waving signs it will look pretty pathetic and will backfire on us. So I would really like to have an accurate head count of those who will show up so we can make this a real showing. Thanks.

Also, this "Stimulous Spending" show is a bunch of B.S. The money being spent on road improvements was already approved and paid for out of gasoline taxes we have been paying every time we fill our tanks - so Obama and these Yahoos are taking credit for spending already collected tax money for improvements that are long overdue and was supposed to be spent anyhow. Big deal. Tell us where the rest is being wasted Joe.
Sorry gang I posted the wrong date. It is tomorrow the 12th at Loy Norrix High School. We should plan to assemble an hour in advance in the Park across from the school on Milham so that we can get in and out easily and avoid traffic.
I can't get there until about 10 am--so not sure if that helps much...with the event scheduled for 10:45, and our need to arrive plenty early. I assume the "public" (Dems and other Libs) who have tickets to attend, will be told to arrive very early, to get thru security, etc, so I wonder if we should be there early enough to show our protest to the arriving public?

This begs the question of who are we trying to show our signs, our solidarity, to?...the general public attending the event?...or the politicians?

Odds are we'll be held back some distance, perhaps at the street, in the interest of "security"--and the politicians will be brought in from a different entrance--thus missing our protest signs altogether. Tony
What time is everyone meeting?
Apparently there aren't going to be enough of us to make a credible showing - so I think that we had better call this one off folks. Let's try for a good outing the next time one of these yahoos shows up around here. Thanks. I guess we just need more time to pull something like this together. Doug.

I didn't get the message to call it off in time (I came from early-morning work, directly to the school). I walked around the area for a half-hour, looking for our Tea Party protesters...but I was the only "protester." My sign said, "Federal Government--Stick with what you do best: Build roads and fight wars; Stay out of: Healthcare, private business, our pockets." I did see lots of "Union Yes!" bumper stickers, as well as many that reminded us "Democrats Serve the people."

I then went to the airport, got to see our tax dollars on display...with the VP's jet, the Air Force cargo plane (which carried the limos), parked and heavily guarded by many police. I wonder what the overtime costs for our local police will be from this event?

This event was planned and announced in the local paper many weeks (months?) ago, so we should've been prepared to make a strong showing. Perhaps next time?
Sorry Tony. You make me proud however. Now I wish I had gone with you and made it a protest of 2.

I think that you are right on with your observation that "spontaneous" protests and counter demonstrations at events like this are very difficult to pull together at a moments notice and should be planned well in advance if we are going to do them at all. And naturally, this sort of thing is completely at the discretion of individuals who might be interested in participating. The Tea Party as an organization is not advocating for demostrations, it is just allowing the forum site to be used to invite its members to participate if they choose.

Of course I hope everyone knows that when we protest and take part in public activities like this, we will never participate in disobediance for the law or show disrespect for proper authority. Arrogance and superior attitude is reserved for the other side and is never advocated. We are NOT sign-waving protestors that stop traffic, interfere with police and create havoc in order to get attention. We will merely present our point of view using our constitutional rights of free speech and assembly.
