Liberty and Freedom
We have heard a lot about whether to tax pension income on the Michigan income tax. This was included in Gov. Snyder's budget proposal for the next two years.
Our state senators and representatives have many tough choices to make and are reaching out to friends for advise. They are asking Tea Party members all across the state what they are thinking.
This is your chance to voice your opinion. Please go to the poll I constructed on google/docs and vote your opinion, yea or nay! Then post your opinion on this forum.
If this works out well, we will forward the results to our reps in the SW MI area and the Tea Parties in other areas of the state.
Now, don't feel like some genius if you discover that you can vote more than once; just don't bother. This is not a scientific survey, just a sense of where the folks in SW MI are at this point in time.

Permalink Reply by David Stevens on March 24, 2011 at 2:11pm I disagree. If you think the government has problems now, try stopping all taxes. You will be very proud in the short term, well, long enough until you start getting robbed on a daily basis. Sure you'll have your weapons, you just won't be alive to enjoy them.

Permalink Reply by David Stevens on March 24, 2011 at 2:16pm Seems like there are some "Me" generation thinkers on this forum. They are their first, last and only consideration. If a problem can't be solved with no effort or cost on their part-then leave it for the next generation. All entitlement and government programs should be cut-except the ones that they benefit from.
Permalink Reply by jaylweb on March 24, 2011 at 3:26pm Seems like we have some left wing liberal that believe in the socialist way of life, Leave it for the next generation? Do you really think were going to pay this off in one generation? Do you understand the whole the liberals have dug for us? Cut everything.

Permalink Reply by Abigail Nobel on March 25, 2011 at 2:15am I'm hearing an awful lot of good reasons for the Fair Tax: no one needs to know anyone's income OR retirement, everybody pays according to what they buy, and increases are strictly limited. Look it up and call Lansing! Michigan www.fairtax.org
This just in from Rep. Genetski:
"Governor Snyder's proposed budget has many proposed reforms and reductions. How they affect some of our major state departments, if enacted, are below-
K 12 education will see a 4.9% reduction.
The Department of Agriculture will see a 10.5% reduction (GF).
The Department of Civil Rights will see a 10.5% reduction (GF).
The Department of Community Health will see an 11.5% increase (GF).
The Department of Natural Resources will see a reduction of 14.2% (GF).
The Department of Environmental Quality will see a 15.1% reduction (GF).
Higher Education (universities) will see an 18.1% reduction (GF).
* GF means general fund.
Snyder's Citizen's Guide (to the budget) and Local Transparency Tool can be found at www.michigan.gov/snyder.
Don't like what you see---TALK TO THE MAN! He's got a phone and a website, he's trying to lead from a middle position, and he needs to hear from REAL CONSERVATIVES.
