No wonder they can't balance a budget!

Is this right?  I thought these were public servants?  How can it be that a public servant makes sooooooo much more than the public they serve?  Are we peasants?  Isn't this a form of tyranny?  Are they so elite that we can't impose realistic limits on their salaries or is it that the government has all the money and all the power?

Until this gets raised as an issue at a public and very large forum nothing can be done. These salaries pale in comparison to corporate directors in various positions running a company with the same budget as the State of Michigan. The difference being that THEY are paid with profits they're in charge of earning. Definitely something that needs to be addressed but there are bigger fish to fry right now. Overturning health care and getting the political class to follow the Constitution come to mind.

It's time for a complete audit. Everyone's salary actually SEES the light of day.

Tea Party? Aren't these the various things that caused this movement to become one in the first place?

I agree that all these postions are way over-paid. But whats worse is that the federal reserve/central banking cartel has created 1.2 quadrillion debt hole with derivitives that can never be repaid. If every working man and woman gave a 100% of their paychecks to income tax it wouldn't even scratch the surface of the fiat debt that has been created. So when people are propping up people like Chris Christy from NJ because he's making cuts to public programs and pensions...just remember it won't make a bit of difference because the gargantuan debt was purposely created with derivitives to bring in a new world currency. The U.S. dollar is being destroyed by design and Americans need to quickly wake up to the fact we have to fix the Federal Reserve system first then we make the cuts. Otherwise all that money we "save" goes right back to the IMF and Central bankers...In other words the very people that got us into this mess. Thats the real threat of tyranny...The central bankers have a history of destroying economies in order to buy up the assets for penies on the dolllar.
