Time for Fred to go?

here is a link to an article on MLIVE where Rep Fred Upton states he doesn't support repeal of health bill because it would be divisive.  It seems it is time to find a viable candidate to run against upton in the primary

I reread both articles again Sean and I don't thinkk so. Uptons been pretty consistent in fighting against government takeover of health care. During the final debate I saw him address the house. He was one of the first batch of speakers to encourage a "no" vote. There has been a lot of talking heads saying that a repeal won't be possible because they need 2/3 of the votes to override Obama's eventual veto. I think we all need to work together to win in November and regain majority and then move on to make sure Obama is a one termer. I would hate to see a repeat of the Ross Perot strategy which gave us Bill Clinton for 8 years. If we splinter, Obama could win again. I think we have to keep our eye on the big picture. Just my thoughts. Have a glorious day everyone.

Fred is like Bush. He's a heck of a good guy who has compromised with Dems on WAY TOO MANY ISSUES. His support for cash for clunkers. His VOTE AGAINST THE TROOP SURGE THAT WON IRAQ. Voted for hate crimes legislation which is used in Canada to supress free speech. Big government spender. If anyone is circulating a petition to run Jack Hoogendyke against him in the Aug primary SIGN IT! WHAT CAN IT HURT?? Let the voters decide if we want to keep this RINO or get new blood in there. Fred has never had to work a day at labor in his life. Let him slide into a feces filled crawl space to fix plumbing like I do and see how much of our money he wants to spend then! If ya never had to work for it you sure as heck can't appreciate it! NO ONE is suggesting we split the Rep. ticket at this time. Political suicide. Lets just get some real conservatives in there so we can CONTRAST ourselves from the statists.

I have supported Upton when it has been a choice between him and a liberal. I have written him to answer yes or no to some basic questions regarding his support of:

a) Repeal of Healthcare regardless of how long it takes

b) Cap and Trade, another power grab by the Federal Government

c) Card Check, if you saw Breitbarts Big Government coverage of the union guys "greeting" the Tea Party Express in Searchlight NV then you can imagine they might "intimidate" people when it comes to organizing. The guy last summer beat up by SEIU thugs might have something to say about union intimidation.

d) Ending the EPA's authority to regulate CO-2 as a hazardous material.

I want straight answers....yes or no...no long winded "it depends" I will no longer vote for someone who will not answer straight out....those days are over....this is serious business now. I think we need to demand simple direct answers on these issues and hold them to account. If they won't answer or equivocate then we do not vote for them. I would like to see a primary challenge to Upton and force him to commit or lose my vote. Just having been in office is no longer something to be proud of....if anything you had better be prepared to defend your past "service". And if the incumbent thinks parading around the crap you have dragged back to the district while charging it to my kids credit card is going to get them re-elected....they obviously think we are as stupid and self absorbed as they are. It is too serious now....anyone who we send to DC has to earn it with candor and credibility.

Rep Upton clarified the day after this article, he supports the repeal of the healthcare bill and replacing it w/ a new bill. with this in mind we need to support him.

Fred was "for it" before he was "against it"! Can we trust him to do the right thing after November?
I am going to do a lot of research before I commit my vote to Fred! He is a true MODERATE and we
cannot afford to support moderates anymore, they are ruining the country I love.

I agree with Tim a few posts down. Upton may be a good man, but he's compromised one too many times on votes. How can we count on his vote if he is wishy washy already, and has this history? this spells HEADACHE for us. Not worth. it.
