May 22nd Rally Planning

Let's use this to communicate planning for the rally.  We had a meeting at the park on May 4th.  There were about eight of us.  Renk was there and he noted that he will handle the staging: sound equipment, music, speakers, emcee, etc.

That leaves the auxiliary items like manning sign in table, taking donations, checking for offensive signs or behavior.  I have started a spread sheet to list the things we still need and start filling in volunteers.  I will place it in Google Docs and will post link here so you can look at it as we go along.

I have an email list of about 38 people that I took from this site.  It is people who indicated that they lived in Battle Creek, Calhoun county, Marshall, etc.  Some of those folks are also members of this group and thus may receive the same info on two different emails as I will use both ways to communicate.

I have posted a task list. It lists things that we need to be provided by 9 or 9:30am on the 22nd at Friendship Park. I envision two sign in tables, each with two sign in books and a donation jar. We will need four people to work the tables and answer questions about what we will use the info for, etc. If you can volunteer for any task, please send me a message with your name and contact info and I will update the list with your name.

My assumptions for the rally:
o Renk is handling 'the show'
o I do not plan on memorabilia sales.
o We do want to take donations; at the end of the day, two people will count the money, both sign a receipt for it and we will deposit in SW Michigan Patriots account. When Battle Creek group gets up and running, that money will be available to them for chapter development.
o It is important to get as many contacts as possible. Min. of name and email; phone # if they want to be immediately involved; mail address if they are not internet enabled. If need be, just an X and how many people in their party so we can get a count.
o Call an organizational meeting within two weeks of rally using sign in info collected at rally.
If I have forgotten anything, I will add as we go along....

I'm having trouble adding my name to the task list. I thought I could just click on the box in the "Who" column and type my name in, but that doesn't seem to be working. How do I put my name on there?

Hey Kristie,,,, It is somewhat confusing; Only Gene has access to the task list.... Just pick what you want to do and send a note to Gene and he will add that to the list.

Kristie, What task do you want to volunteer for? I will post it. I didn't want to leave it open to the public to update; too many mischievous folks out there.

Does anyone know if Renk is planning to provide the info on this flyer to the Shopper News? I would guess they probably won't print this type of thing unless we paid for an ad with them, but I'm not sure.
