Wanted to make sure everyone knew about a free event coming up in portage this friday afternoon with Pete Hoekstra and special guest Michael Farris, president of the Home School Legal Defense fund.

This is so true!

What a profound short little paragraph that says it all

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out
of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person
must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody
anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work
because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other
half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is
going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of
any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

I found this article in a manufacturing trade newspaper. It's a nice write-up about an American company filling the needs of our military by replacing baby wipes with something more practicle. I enjoyed it, thought you would too.

It seems to me that the battle for the hearts and minds of the public is fought largely through media coverage. Looking at the "traditional" media, they are all losing money and viewers. Their news outlets (tv and newpaper) though are still influential. Looking at the "alternative" media, they are gaining viewers and making money. The first real battle for the hearts and minds will be won when an "alternative" news source swallows a "traditional" one. It's going to happen because we all know that "Money talks and ..." (You know the rest.) My big question and frustration is 'When'?

Good point Michael. Obama and his minions are doing that again via the media. They work to keep us off balance and take up our time with nonsense crap. Somehow we have to steal the moment and momentum and throw them off balance for awhile.

I am remembering the tactics used by Obama and the Socialists last summer - they kept overwhelming and overloading us so there was no time to re-group and focus on the basics. Our basics are less government, less taxes, kill obamacare, stop cap and tax. We need to put forward ideas for a clear replacement for obamacare (tort reform, interstate competition, etc.)
