o Michigan House report on our 'Roads Crisis' (Click Here). A good publication to start with about the current needs of our Transportation infrastructure.
o It appears the majority of the current momentum is in the Senate Appropriations Committee. The Transportation Committee wrote bills SB 919 and 920 that call for a 10.1% tax on the wholesale price of gas. These bills have been deferred to the Appropriations Committee.
o There is a meeting planned for Wednesday Feb 22 for this committee with an agenda item to "An Overview of the Governor's Recommendations for Transportation"

Comment by Gene Clem on February 12, 2012 at 12:13am Melanie Kurdys is heading a team to look into the situation with some business owners who will be directly effected by an increase in fuel tax, some state senators and representatives and other Tea Party activists from around the state. Envision a Tea Party position paper on the subject to be presented before committee(s).
