Hi all! Good to be here, make room, haha!

To reiterate some points brought up at the meeting tonight, the group is growing and it's time to start making decisions reflective of the group's wishes RE: our message, and how we get it OUT.

SO..... what's our thing, our beef, our drumbeat?

Fiscal restraint/control
Personal responsibility

woohoo here we go....

maybe we could borrow some ideas from the 9/12 ers, or the glenn beck groups.

I love the way they the "core values" are listed on the back of the business cards.

I suggested to Gene last night that ajourn every meeting by saying and now we'll ajourn the meeting with our core values and recite them and untill they are memorized we could just read them off the back of a business cards or (Like the Jaycees do it) just add the core values to the agenda so it can be read.

This would begin to establish just exactley what our common core values and begin to get everyone on the same page so that when they say I belong to SW MI Tea party Patriots they/ we have a united answer.

Southwest Michigan Tea Party Patriots Core Principles:
Respect for the Constitution
Limited Government
Seperation of Powers
Protection of individual & property rights
Fiscal Responsibilty
Free Trade & Commerce
Fairer, Flatter, More Equitable Tax System

I have seen the core principles. Seems to me that they are fine for now, esp. because they have been worked on alot already.

Seems to me , pig picture, the talking points we "use" as focus points all could "orbit" around the bills that we are targeting... we develop talking points/clarity of focus for healthcare; what else. ...Oh yeah, the free speech issue stuff going on about back door ramming through of "czars controlling the media".... need help on that.

Who knows enough about that to provide us bill descriptions, etc on this free speech media thing? We could get this info off 9/12 sites.

What other bill are we watching...healthcare, infringement on free speech, gee I dunno... the rape of our defense budget and demasculinization of the war on radical Islamists? Had to vent a bit there. There are so many fires.

Should we just worry about healthcare talking points first?

the following priciples could be summed up under the "rule of Law"

Respect for the Constitution
Seperation of Powers
Protection of individual & property rights

keep the number of priciples low so as not to lose the attention of those reading them for the first time
