Box-To-Box: Volunteers Needed

Two weeks ago, David Yardley informed our planning group that 30-40% of Michigan voters vote by absentee ballot.

 

I had no idea the percentage was that high, but upon reflection, when I went door-to-door in August in 2010, I recalled that at least 1/3 of ppl I spoke with had already voted. That's a lot of votes ~ more than enough to change the outcome of an election.

 

We also learned that absentee ballots will be mailed out to voters the end of this week. Which means we have one week to reach that 30-40%.

 

For legal reasons, we cannot officially endorse a candidate, but we can, as individuals, support the candidates we choose.

 

Our plan is to make sure that flyers are dropped off in every newspaper box over the next couple weeks, before most of those absentee ballots are mailed in.

 

It's easy ~ I paper clip Hoogendyk/Glenn/Quattrin info along with one of our TPP cards, walk subdivisions, and just slip the flyers in the box or hand them to ppl who are in their yards. If there is no newspaper box, I ring the doorbell.

 

But you don't have to walk ~ you can just have someone drive you box to box and cover even more ground that way. Don't even have to talk with ppl if you don't want to :-)
