We're on the same page albaby, For myself, I'm convinced that, of those on the stage at the debates (you are correct, not the place to learn about a candidate), Ron Paul stands out as the true patriot. I've done a lot of research (not from FOX news who is completely in the tank for the establishment Republicans) and will support him for President.

Logic also says that you are correct about Ron Paul's age. Not that it should disqualify him to hold office, but that he should be mindful of the possibility that his running mate could well have to step into the big shoes. I'm confident that he will select a person similar to himself, not an establishment Republican.

Libertarians are far from anarchists, the premise is simply to follow the procedure written a couple of hundred years ago. We've goofed on doing that (on many, many counts) and are now paying dearly for it. There are very sound reasons that the Constitution says what it does the way it does. The only fix for our ailing Republic is to clean up the mistakes and get back on track. Simple, but not easy at all...and certainly a bit frightening!

Lastly, albaby, if your words meant little, I wouldn't spend time throwing down with you. A good-natured spar helps us all hone our positions and develop respect for each other. While we will never agree on everything, I appreciate that you are very concerned, thoughtful and practical. More folks should do a fraction of the homework you do.

Maybe you should run for President!

John, I never said Paul was an anarchist. I merely described the extremes bteween no law and total rule Our laws are supposed to be at a midpoint. I agree. Obama has to go, but I listened to 3 of the republican debates and did not feel any of the candidates stood out as exceptional. That's why I try to find more information rather than 1 minute answers they were allowed to give in the debates As far as RP's age, I think that having a good VP ready to take over would be a good thing.

John, I'm not running for President, so my words mean little and my age means even less.

"The press office issued credentials to those reporters and photojournalists who are covering the president’s trip this week to Washington state, California, and Colorado. The credential even provides a handy graphic highlighting (in white) which states the president will visit.

"The only problem?

"Wyoming is highlighted, not Colorado."

Well, what does the West matter anyway? D.C. is the only important part of the United States.

Just one more great example of how little the BO gang knows or cares about America.

Don't use the straw-man stating that Ron Paul desires anarchy! Not true at all! Dr. Paul is a Constitutionalist.

States are free to make all the laws as they deem necessary, The concept is to get the Federal government out of our lives and performing only the work intended, as written.

You're up there in years yourself, Al. Shall we use that against you as we consider your comments? How many 'good years' do you have left?

All good conversation, and you know I'd give you a big hug right now if you were here. It's about putting the right person in office, and of course, Barry Soetoro is not the one. Having said that, I'd prefer to leave him there to keep the folks bristling and active rather than put an establishment Republican in which would certainly cause the people to relax while we continue down the road to a one world government.

Unless you run, there will never be anyone in office that you agree with 100%. I'm willing to put someone in who believes in continuing the experiment initiated by our founding fathers, even if I don't agree with some of the fine points.

Liberty is the condition of being free from restiction or control. Freedom from all restriction or control would be anarchy. Total control is tyranny. We seek a middle ground. For example, is allowing gun manufacturers to be sued for misuse of their products liberty?

I don't understand why RP would vote against that bill.

Also RP is 75 years old ( I think). Does he have 8 good years left in him? Maybe a good VP would be a definite plus if he gets the nomination.

LeeRoy,

Don't listen to the media who are actively and intentionally downplaying Dr. Paul. Know that both FOX and the rest of the liberal media are scared to death of Ron Paul. There is a reason for that - he is NOT business as usual - Ron Paul is going to fundamentally change the way Washington DC (District of Criminals) works.  Let me give you a spot on each person you mentioned (the others aren't worth our time).

Bachmann

Has she apologized for representing the IRS in hundreds of tax cases against the American People?

Her time working for the IRS is her ONLY job outside elected office. Is she a career politician?

How does she explain being a Carter supporting Democrat?

Cain

Will not sign anti-abortion pledge.

Fed insider and supporter.

Weak on 2nd Amendment.

Romney

RINO is kind.

Author of Obamacare.

Endorsed by establishment Republicans (should be enough right there!).

On to Ron Paul - not electable? How do you figure? Ignore the media talking points. Ron Paul consistently comes in first, second or third in the polls. When he is first, like the recent FOX-Google debate poll (among others), the polls are removed when they show that he beat the other two guys combined! How did the Texas straw poll work out this year? (Please Google it if you don't know.) He won CPAC two years in a row! He bests the other candidate's military campaign donations combined - soldiers love him! The candidates are talking like him in order to be what the people want. What makes you think that he isn't electable?!!!

Paul is the ONLY candidate that will unashamedly support our liberty. He has proven this over his time in Congress. The other candidates are finger-to-the-wind and will support whatever gets them elected - also evident by their records.

Again: DO YOUR HOMEWORK, send some money, pass the word.

Click on the 'see full qoutes" on the topic and note the sources after the quote. This site also provides information on what the candidates do and say when they aren't in full campaign mode. The last sound bites are what they want you to remember.
