Comment by albaby on December 8, 2011 at 3:37pm Doesn't Ron Paul have a website where he could explain why he didn't vote for HR 822? That would be the best source.
Comment by Todd Erb on December 8, 2011 at 3:36pm Al, I believe we are skipping December meeting. However if someone knows for sure I would appeciate info also.

“A worker at a San Antonio store [Macy's] is now looking for a new job after she was fired for refusing to allow a transgendered person to use the women's fitting room.”

Basically, Macy’s has just opened the door to any man who walks in off the street wearing jeans and a t-shirt to simply say he is “transgender” and be admitted in the women’s dressing rooms. If that’s their policy, then I suppose they allow them to use women’s restrooms as well.
How hard would it be for sex perverts to ogle women in dressing rooms? Or plant a stick-on surveillance camera in a dressing room and livestream everything to his home computer or worse yet, a porn website?
And of course, their wide-open policy could easily be used to allow women in men’s dressing rooms.
Guess we really need to know the ins and outs of corporate policy before we dare to shop somewhere. This is utterly ridiculous.

Janet--you should definitely post. I think people are interested in reading the actual bills, etc--problem is, we don't have any more time to research all of these issues than you do. If you can include links to the actual bill and commonsense commentaries, that's helpful.
Remember, we're all volunteers and there are a thousand issues out there that all need to be dealt with--which is why the Tea Party needs the active participation of all members to make a difference.
Comment by Janet Blazen on December 7, 2011 at 2:51pm I want someone who belongs to the TEA PARTY to look up:
"National Defense Authorization Act"
Let's see what they come up with ?
Please post it here when you find something. O.K.
Comment by Jennifer Groves on December 7, 2011 at 2:33pm Janet--you should definitely call in and express your concerns.
On another, slightly less political note--for Stevensville Village residents--anyone note the new change to recycling? Now only once every 4 weeks. Which means that it occurs on a different week every month. Hard enough to remember the schedule when it was bi-weekly. I think we pay enough in taxes that bi-weekly recycling needs to be re-instated.
If you want to call in and urge them to re-think their decision, Stevensville Village is 429.1802 and Reliable is 800.677.1083.
Comment by Janet Blazen on December 7, 2011 at 1:38pm If anyone goes..........Have them ask him what he knows about:
The "National Defense Authorization Act"
and how it may be connected to:
"HR 822"
It just MAY be the reason that RON PAUL "didn't vote for HR 822 ?
It seems that a certain person on this site (and maybe some others) had a problem with the fact that RP didn't vote for it...........My comment back to him was if he didn't vote for it he probably had DAMN good reason !
"National Defense Authorization Act" Just might be why ?
This bill scares the HELL out of me and should scare the HELL out of everyone. As TEA PARTY members we are suppose to be fighting for our BILL OF RIGHTS not flushing them down the toilet ..................
