After you go to..... realclearpolitics.org.....like Al suggested. Go to :
The point is, Al, that historical facts take precedence in how I view a candidate. Like their voting record. Actions speak louder than words.
Gingrich is saying a lot of things these days that conservatives like to hear. But birds of a feather flock together and the company he's kept is not conservative.
Jennifer-point was, we can always cite someone who shares or opposes our views and sometimes it's the same person. Todays hero can be tomorrows zero.
On the contrary, Al, just because I agree with coulter on her history of newt does NOT mean I have to accept her liking Romney. There's such a thing as historical fact.
As I've already said, I don't like (or trust) Romney, Perry, or Gingrich. Fortunately, each person gets to cast their vote for their preferred candidate.
Tonite on Hannity, Coulter lumped Ron Paul in with Gingrich as non conservatives and also said that Gingrich suggested that welfarekids and poor kids should become janitors etc. Gingrich did not say that. He said the schools could offer them such jobs as a way to earn money and build self esteem. If I'm wrong-straighten me out.
If you agreed with Coulter about Gingrich, then you must agree with this comment of hers.
"Instead of sitting on our thumbs, wishing Ronald Reagan were around, or chasing the latest mechanical rabbit flashed by the media, conservatives ought to start rallying around Romney as the only Republican who has a shot at beating Obama. We'll attack him when he's president. It's fun to be a purist, but let's put that on hold until Obama and his abominable health care plan are gone, please ".
Plus here are a couple of more Paul quotes:
Texas Rep. Ron Paul bashed neoconservatives Monday and said that he wouldn’t use taxpayer money to aid an ally even if it was in mortal danger.*
Wartime brainwashing that Islam is inherently warlike If we hate racism, we must also hate war since it is war that has bred malignant types of racism. In our time, we observe the same happening to those of the Islamic faith. Members of both parties demonize people and encourage an anti-Islamic feeling. Christians are being told, as in George Orwell's 1984, that "we've always been at war with Islam," that Islam is an inherently warlike religion, that "they" are taking over America with their mosques, clothing, & law. This whole campaign has the earmarks of a new Cold War, and perhaps hot war, in which Islam replaces atheistic communism as the enemy. What is striking about this form of racism is how little it has to do with reality. The 9/11 hijackers were not devout Muslims, but we are often led to believe that they were. The government of Saddam Hussein was secular.
What none of this mentions is that Islam, Christianity, and Judaism lived in peace, sometimes in the same regions of Europe, for some 700 years between the 8th and 15th centuries..
Liberty Defined, by Rep. Ron Paul, p.239-240 Apr 19, 2011.
Paul has previously said that the military presence in Saudi Arabia was a motivator for terrorists, who were angered by American troops in the Islamic country.
The Texas congressman made clear he did not think America’s form of government and economy were to blame, but rather the specific foreign policies pursued by the United States.
“To deny this I think is very dangerous, but to argue the case that they want to do us harm because we're free and prosperous I think is a very, very dangerous notion because it's not true,” Paul said.
He continued, “You're supposed to be able to criticize your own government without saying you're un-American.”
Fortunately, coulter does actual research--something uniformly missing from most lib pieces.
What I hate is how many conservative writers have adopted the liberal journalistic practice of NOT providing exact references when they write. Coulter does in her books; not so much in her blogs.
Am currently reading a good book by Palin--some great historical quotes but no biblio references. ARRRGGGHHH!!!
Go to realclearpolitics.org and look at the different polls.
The RINO's are everywhere..............Even the tea party.........
And by the way, Ron Paul is doing a LOT better than the news is reporting............
