Code of Conduct:

Communicating in a Social Media is different from face-to-face communication. Only the words are seen, not facial expressions, inntonance or tone of voice. Pay careful attention to how you use your vocabulary.  Words entered in a burst of passion or anger will remain for you and everyone else to see.  They remain long after the intense feeling has passed. We do not discourage spontaneity and provide a friendly reminder of the long-term effects of what you post. You may, from time to time, find yourself in disagreement with someone else's opinion or your own commentary when reflecting on the posting.

Keep in mind everyone will not agree 100% of the time.  We need to celebrate and focus on the 90% we do agree on.  When a disagreement arises, be polite and take issue with commentary, position, or votes rather than the person.

Using the Southwest Michigan Tea Party Patriot (SWMTPP) website is optional; however, you agree not to post material in chat rooms, message boards, forums, groups, comments, or notes of the following nature:

• Any communication intended to harass, belittle, humiliate, threaten or embarrass member.
• Profanity or masking profane words with %$#* or other similar symbols
• Material of vulgar or obscene nature or images of the same.  This includes posting links to other sites/media that violate this policy.
• Any communication that contains spam
• Material aimed to defame, abuse or threaten others or political candidates.
• Hateful or racially offensive statements.
• Any sexually-related images or discussion in any form will not be tolerated.
• Any postings which request money, purchase of products, or soliciting products or businesses will be immediately deleted.
