I agree with that. I also think that the leadership is not representing the rank and file but their own agenda. They are opportunists who took over the organizations for their own political ends many years ago. The stated intent in the beginning was good. If it was ever the real purpose I don't know enough about the history. The stated intent of ACORN also sounds great. But we now know that was a smoke screen from the beginning and it was believed by many. Where does that road paved with good intentions go again??????

My husband is retired but was in the SEIU for many years where he worked. He went to DC last weekend......rank and file members don't think the way the union bosses do and some are starting to wake up. Heard this week about a union vote to disband itself at some work place in another state recently. The members opted themselves out.
