Remind Republican Party - They Need to Earn Our Support

Posted on January 29, 2010 at 11:21pm 2 Comments

Please keep reminding everyone that we in the Tea party movement are NOT Republicans with a large “R” we are republicans with a small “r” as in … “and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, - under God - indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”.

I have been watching the national Republican Party leaders crowing loudly about the victory by Scott Brown over Democrat Martha Coakley in the special election held last Tuesday for the US Senate seat left vacant by the death… Continue

How to Fix the Economy - This Guy Nailed It!

Posted on July 23, 2009 at 11:58pm 0 Comments

This is from an article in the St. Petersburg, FL Times Newspaper. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"

Dear Mr. President:

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.

You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people… Continue

6. Firmly Click 'Yes.'

What's The Next Move - How Can You help?

I apologize to all for not being active on the blog and forum sites lately. Several of us have been working very hard at getting the new office established and I am happy to report that we are nearly finished. We have removed old shelving, spackled and repaired holes in the walls, repainted, cleaned and moved some very heavy furniture in to get us started. Special thanks to Gene, Tony, Mel, Scott, Greg and Cari for their assistance.

I have set up a computer for the main office and… Continue

Republicans Got an Earful at Radisson Hotel Monday Night

Posted on June 16, 2009 at 8:36pm 4 Comments

Jack Hoogendyk called me Monday afternoon and asked me if I would like to attend an event at the Radisson Hotel that the Republican Party was sponsoring. He thought it would be a good opportunity for me to "mingle" with some of the State Congressmen and Republican Party leaders and give them a some of my ideas on how they might better represent the voters in the area.

Of course I jumped at the opportunity, and for the better part of 2 hours - in my usual calm and relaxed manner - I… Continue

Doug depending on the amount of people who show up in Schoolcraft it may be a good idea to have a couple of people that are not marching in the parade pass out fliers along the side of the parade route.I realize that the people marching and passing only reaches the front rows. That way were able to deliver the fliers more effectively.

Just wanted to thank you for your Viewpoint article in today’s Gazette. It is right on target and it could not have been published at a better time as I was feeling a bit discouraged after a recent meeting with one of Mr. Upton’s district representatives, Ed Sackley.

I have called and sent e-mails and letters in the past but my meeting this past Wednesday was the first time I have spoken with anyone from his office at length. My objective was to express my concerns about government spending and to get a better understanding of Mr. Upton’s political ideology.

I came away with the sense that as long as enough constituents wanted a project funded and if they could contribute to a campaign that it was ok to make everyone else pay for the project. He seemed unwilling to accept the fact that government could choose to spend less and that taking money from one person and giving it to another is wrong.

The meeting concluded when we agreed that the spending is what it is because there is no constituency for freedom and liberty. I guess I heard about what I expected, but felt that I needed to sit face-to-face with the people that are spending my money.

I have joined SWMTPP and look forward to making a contribution to the cause. I will not be able to participate in the July 4th events but will be available in the future.

I agree, third party is problematic. Would love another Reagan. Just read Levin's Liberty and Tyranny which outlines the origins and goals of "Statism" and am now reading Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged... "Who is John Galt?" anyone wanting to understand where we are and how we go here should read both.
