Where are the Tea Parties?

The Michigan State Senate [Republican] Committee Members who are holding up House Bill 4059 that will make available $2.6 million to pay teachers, not [full-time] union stewards! The committee Chair, Mark Jansen, from Grand Rapids, has the [sole power] to put this bill up for a vote in the full senate; he refuses. The guy needs to be ashamed of himself— Is he a crook; in the pocket of the teacher unions? And where are the Michigan Tea Party groups? Someone needs to get off their butt! And are…See More

School Funding in Michigan: Common Myths at Michigan Restaurant Association

May 18, 2011 from 12pm to 1pm
Michigan’s state-run school system is the largest and most expensive government service that state taxpayers support — spending more than $20 billion a year. It employs more than 350,000 people who work in one of the more than 4,100 different entities. Given the enormity and complexity of the system, it’s no surprise that myths abound about how public schools are funded.Lunch is provided at no charge with reservation. The luncheon begins at noon. I am an American and I am a Conservative thinker

Not being a religion or ideology, my conservatism has no script and no model as I look to judge social order in the age in which I live. The attitudes I possess are sustained by my sentiments, and my sentiments seem to be second nature to me; a part of my make-up. I believe that society should progress, but such progression should adhere to Constitutional permanence. --- I believe in claims of liberty and in claims of authority. I base the future on the past, yet I value "orderly change”, necessitated by circumstance. --- Although there are others of us who I recognize as conservative thinkers with whom I am sometimes at odds regarding certain matters, that disagreement seems natural to me. I respect others simply as individuals and I respect them for their opinion because I know that "best ideas" come the way of thoughtful, reasoned, and honest debate.

It is my goal to support and influence a Conservative public policy that is consistent with these “values”, via independent efforts as well as in conjunction with others of like minds. Specifically, I desire to focus on providing a conservative voice wherever I can. I further desire to facilitate opposition to policies and politicians that do not resonate with a true conservative message, and I will lend support to bureaucrats and political candidates who do.

I believe the “Left” has been effective using lies to create barriers between Conservative values and issues of race, labor, gender, religion, etc. It is my desire to motivate and enlighten people to become activists against those lies, and we must not be shy about it. There is [nothing] I believe in that I should be ashamed of. I don’t need to lie “for the greater good” and I don’t need to exaggerate. I need to leave nothing out of any argument. I do need to be forceful, and I need to be honest. I need to articulate my position effectively and I need to be aggressive about it!

State Senator Mike Nofs goes to a Tea Party and then to a MEA rally; really?

Posted on May 28, 2010 at 2:09pm 0 Comments

What is a Republican State Senator doing showing up at a MEA sponsored event, one of many around the state, designed to get taxpayers to shell out more money for teacher pay and benefit increases? Yup, he did just that, the REPUBLICAN Nofs, the DEMOCRAT Segal and the MEA, all rallying for higher taxes.…

John, thank you! I will do that. I'll be there with my wonderful husband and my dog! We all hate what is happending to our country. My parents were both Marines and I lost my dad just over a year ago. I feel like this is my "fight". I'm a small business owner and call Renk occassionally too! I get very frustrated with entitlement attitudes and hope to meet Renk while I'm there! Please keep an eye out for us!
