Mission Statement and Core Principles - Final Edition

The following is the final edition of the Mission Statement and Core Principles for the South West Michigan Tea Party Patriots. Gene will be publishing them at the next meeting, and Tia will be using this version when designing our pamphlets and for inclusion on future web page postings.

"Cut the Pork" Theme for the 4th of July ???

I wonder what everyone thinks about using the phrase "Cut the Pork" and offering pulled pork sandwiches and fixings like cole slaw and potato salad and chips for the 4th of July event? The phrase "Cut the Pork" is sort of catchy and fits with our mission. Pulled pork is really easy to do maybe we could make a few bucks for the coffers.

Pamplets, Ideas

Hi there all!



Sorry I haven't been around as much, sparking off and all. I have been working on the pamplets, and the graphics and layouts are coming along a real treat, but I would love to have some ideas of subjects you would like to see covered. Also Ideas of websites, with accurate, well cited tax data would be an awesome help.



I want everyone to shout out ideas no matter how obvious because I really want pamplets that speak from the heart of all of us.

Chysler "Bankruptcy"

These "managed bankruptcies" deals for GM and Chrysler are engineered to reward political friends of the current administration. The bond holders who were secured creditors are being forced to take payouts that are less than what a bankruptcy, processed under current laws, would award them. However the UAW's unsecured debt is being settled at a greater percent payout than the secured debt holders!

Tea Party Patriots Should Oppose Obama Supreme Court Appointee

I hope that we can quickly complete the business of adopting our Mission Statement and Core Principles because I personally would like to see us issue some kind of press release opposing Judge Sonia Sotomayor, Obama's nominee to replace Souter on the Supreme Court.

Minutes of 23 May 2009 Planning Meeting.

Meeting was called to order by Gene Clem at 6:10pm



The Pledge of Allegience was recited by all members.



The Platform Commitee presented their draft of the Preamble, Mission Statement, and Core Principals. And discussion of this document was central to most of the rest of the meeting.

Upcoming Events

There are a few events that we might want to start looking at. In South Haven is the big Blueberry Festival in July as well as the Steelheaders Fishing tournaments which draw thousands of people every year. My son-in-law Dave Mills is the head of the Steelheaders and is very conservative. I believe I can get him to start spreading pamphlets and things around in the South Haven area. Obama did something right ?

Since Obama's election I have been distressed.....I disagree with 95% of his policies, but today think that his decision to further fight the ACLU on the release of the so-called "torture pictures" is a good decision. It is true it would only further muddy our reputation, cause our troops more casualties, and act as a recruitment tool for the radical Islam fundamentalists of the world. Okay I am being inspired by my kids favorite morning kid's show, Imagination Movers. They have an "Idea Box" to put random ideas in so they can pull them out later when they might need them.

Montana, Texas, Utah in the Lead.

Montana has passed a law that states that guns and ammunition made in the state, sold in the state and used in the state will be regulated by the state and NOT the federal government. This is a direct challenge to the federal government regulating interstate commerce in contravention of the constitution. It goes into effect in November and it is expected that it will go to court then. All states are urged to pass similar laws quickly.…

Recruiting Help--Ideas.

Welcome Everyone.

Recruiting may arguably be one of the most powerful wepons of our organization. Everyone can participate, thats the great part, and you don't even have to be good at talking to people either.

Being Patient

We are on the right path! This is a long and difficult road. We have to remember that this is an incrimental approach. We are going to be at this for decades, not weeks, months, or even years. We must prioritize our focus. What is the correct order of the things we push for that will get us what we want? We must not let our personal feelings get in the way of the long term goal.
