Exactly why I am in the MIGOP, a precinct delegate, and an activist. Reforms are needed no doubt, but MY principles are that I will not exercise my right to vote for someone I KNOW is going to lose and then allow the worst possible person to get in. My principles tell me to forget about myself, my feel good moment, and look to the bigger picture, it is ALWAYS conservatives who lose the voters to 3rd party candidates. It actually says a lot about the people running on the 3rd party ticket to me... tells me they are more concerned with their OWN ambitions than the greater good for all. Perhaps they should have worked harder in the existing establishments or perhaps they should learn to lose gracefully.

In the mid 1800's the Republican Party was the 3rd Party but enough principled people voted for their candidates to get them elected. If enough principled people voted for the Libertarian or US Tax Payer candidate in an election then that person would get ELECTED! Being a federal employee I am not allowed to run for any partisan office which includes Precinct Delegate, otherwise I would be in the MIGOP pushing for a closed primary system with the party electing the candidates and also I'd be pushing for a new election system that requires candidates to get a majority to win with automatic 2nd ballot runoffs.

I pray these 3rd party candidates are prepared to take credit if the liberal democrats win in November, because they syphon off the votes of Conservative, God Fearing people.
