Anti-Gunner Promoted on Fox News' Hannity ? :
Chris Christie on Fox News’ Hannity said that illegal guns are a problem in New Jersey. The shows premise is geared toward “common sense”, however placating guns, inanimate objects as an enemy, while ignoring the real threat, criminals, is about as far from any common sense imaginable; other than say, throwing yourself from a cliff. I am a regular viewer of Fox News and Sean Hannity’s radio and telecast program, however, I feel the language presented by Christie and the near endorsement by Hannity misses the mark that, I sincerely believe, Mr. Sean genuinely, seeks, which is to conserve common sense principles in government and society.
Say an intruder breaks in, with an “illegal” gun. I am armed with a “legal” firearm, as would be expected, my being a thoughtful and well abled citizen. There is a struggle. Both weapons fall to the floor. In the melee I retrieve his “illegal” firearm, seconds later he, too retrieves my “legal” gun, which now becomes “illegal” in the possession of the criminal. I fire a shot wounding the intruder. My stolen, “illegal” gun falls to the floor and after taking it back upon my person it is now “legal” again. The “illegal” gun is handed over to the police after they arrive and becomes what, only God and Mother Earth knows, but whatever it is or ever was, it was a gun, “illegal” or otherwise that was used in self-defense.
In conclusion, “illegal” guns are useless without an “illegal” user committing “illegal” acts. Without a handler, a product may be on sale, but it never reaches the shelf. Without criminal intent, an “illegal” gun is never brandished, let alone, fired, on the defenseless. Criminals are the problem, not the weapons they chose, nor the weapons their, WOULD-BE, victims chose to ward off such malfeasances, when they do, naturally occur. The more they are provided an opportunity to commit such acts, for example, via the Classical Conditioning, of the court authority, by disarming citizens and dolling out lenient punishment, the more malfeasance of this kind will and does ensue.
So, who is the real criminal here…?
…and who would you rather kiss your baby…an armed thug, or the politician that enables them…?

I'm glad I don't have live in New Jersey (though I used to live in NYC, about four miles from the NJ state line...so I have some perspective on the situation). The upcoming gubernatorial election would be a difficult choice. Well, perhaps not. Current Governor Corzine is a typical tax-N-spend Lib Democrat...so the obvious choice is Christie, the conservative Republican. I liked what I'd heard about Christie...until I saw an interview (on Hannity, I believe), where he said he DID favor SOME restrictions on guns. Whoa! Sorry, but I'd rather have every responsible citizen have a LEGAL gun...than to have just a small percentage of criminal-types with ILLEGAL guns (which they'll always get).
