IRS Strips CAIR of Tax-Exempt Status

"The IRS has stripped the embattled Council on American-Islamic Relations of its tax-exempt status after the nation's most prominent Muslim group withheld donor records from the government.

 

"The move by the federal agency follows an expose published by WND Books that revealed these and other violations by CAIR and triggered a federal investigation and audit."

"CAIR's national office has failed to file financial records since 2007 as required by federal law.

 

"CAIR has 15 months to seek reinstatement of its tax-exempt status. To do so, it must file the missing three annual 990 reports, along with a new application for exempt status. It also must explain the delay in filing the records. To waive separate IRS penalties, tax attorneys say, CAIR's national office must prove that "reasonable cause" and not "willful neglect" was behind its lengthy delay in filing."

 

CAIR may be on its way out--good news. But look for its leadership to set up shop under another name (the MB M.O.).

 

And then of course there's the issue of whether or not the IRS can see well enough to tell the difference between other "houses of worship" that truly DO operate as non-profits and the CAIR lobby/terrorist group.

 

With all of CAIR's well-documented terrorist activities, you have to wonder why the agency--and all those associated with it--have not been imprisoned or at least deported.

 

Still, these forceful revelations about CAIR come after one FBI agent and his son infiltrated the organization. Kudos to David and Chris Gaubatz.  _Muslim Mafia_ is a very informative read.
