Liberty and Freedom

Okay, at the meeting yesturday we seemed to reach a consensus that we are outgrowing our Ning. So we are going to work on getting a full site of our own. I am looking into servers and providers and will try to find an affordable site that both suits our needs and allows us to continue to grow and grow,. That said I would like to hear from you all what you would like to see in a new site. Here is my current list of Must Haves.

1. Content Pages that allows us to carry text and information for folks to read.

2. A Forum so that we can continue to talk, post, and blog.

3. PDF files that allow us to download and print forms, brochures, and other handouts.

4. A Calender that will allows us to keep each other appraised of meetings, events, and get togethers.

5. Email accounts. Atleast five, maybe ten emails so that we have accounts specifically for venders and others to reach us about business.

6. A "Donate Here Option (after we get our 501 C (4) through.

So what else would you like to see on a site? How would you like it to look? What do you want the site to "feel" like? Have a look at other sites that you really like and ask yourself what you like about them. Let me know what you think.

What about a chat room? I"m not huge into them but it would be a more efficient way to corral Bruce.

ne thing, Jan, that I have seen in the past is a Links Library. Which is basically links organised by subject to websites with more information on each subject. We can certainly have a links library to make it easy for folks to find information on a host of topics that pertain to our mission.

Cynthia's and Dan M's ideas about education incuding videos of our events, and etc., of which I have many sources and videos in my e-files. I like the idea of categorizing the issues (like indices covering specific issues) so that a person could go to a spot to find information on topics such as Taxes, Public Education, New Laws re Homosexuality, Political Correctness, Global Warming, Globalism, North American Union Progress, etc etc etc. for beginners, also G-8 and G-2 happenings. All spokes of the Socialist wheel that have been effected now and are progressing to culmination very rapidly in this administration's actions for our country.

Cynthia, thats a great idea, and using a Content Management System like Joomla (which is free) I can add things such as Podcasts, Videos, and Shout boxs. This will allow us to make web commercials on youtube and post them on our site, as well as share them with others. As well I can set the forum up to have an option that will allow you to push a button and see all the New Posts since the last time you were there, that way as we get busier folks wont miss pertinant posts in all the hustle and bustle.

Well, I'd like a spot for videos. They could be videos of our events, educational videos, rants and raves, all sorts of things. Reading is great, but sometimes a video puts it over better.

Yes the information pages would be a part of the site, and then I thought we could have links to any good blogs or pages that we thought had good info for people. That part will take some time because we will need to vet each page we link too to make sure it has accurate info.

I'm following Bruces lead, my ignorance is bliss (or something like that).

I would like to reiterate that we have some kind of education link on the web site, just plain information to counter the misinformation campaign by the mass media.
