Liberty and Freedom

Hi All attendees: I found the information, perspectives, and useful. I was conflicted on one of the morning sessions - compromise. I disagree with this contention. This is the problem near the heart of our troubles today. Yet, I did not wish to rock the boat at my first meeting.

I AM SICK. I AM TIRED. ... of the Socialist, entitlement mentaility of the our leaders. Issues are black/white or right/wrong. Our Representatives should vote yes, because the legislation is right....not because "it is the best billl" everyone can agree on. We must hold the line, not compromise or pick n choose our battles. Conservatives have condoned earmarks, entitlements, taxes, and by compromising enabled the progressive lunes to gradually erode our founding principles.

We must find candidates who are willing to face the fire and hold the line.

Paul, while you are correct, my angst is centered on two values:
1 Earmarks on any bill; & a vote "for" the bill by a Sen or Repr, is a compromise.
2 The elected claim they will "not" vote for any bill which compromises their core values. I submit that earmarks on any bill is compromise and is or should be against their values.

Progressives exist in the Rep party. Hence generating a greater need for our ( Tea Party ) org.

Cheryl, Scott, and Jim. I appreciate ur feedback. As I prefaced my commentary as useful info, as I believe something is gained from any dialogue. However, the premise of the note was focused on the compromise piece of the meeting...not the value of the techniques. Hence as compromise whether viewed as "Cornhusker Kickback"; earmarks; or any other comrpomise of Founding values ... drifted our government to the brink of tipping the scale into socialism.

In a brief exchange with Ms O'Brian (sp), she stated, "she would not vote against her core values." Yet, this approach implied she would vote another way if the category deemed worthy, or achieved compromise on another topic.

As such, I believe we as a group either need to cultivate candidates who mirror our values and hold the line without compromise or discover ( via the interview process ) those who achieve the highest match.

I agree about the vetting. The LI perhaps did not complete any background on our organization to determine where we are in the cycle; I pointed this out to Colleen and she agreed. Obviously, some of the infor was over the top, but I found some very, very useful.

You are Spot On! We had a long discussion with the Eagle Forum Rep over this very issue and a couple others after the meeting. This is not the time for any compromise. Does the left ever compromise?
We were unable to vette this particular training session and have made it clear we will dictate content in the future.
The Eagle Forum is a fantastic organization and meant well by sponsoring this event and their intentions are sound, but they obviously had not researched the training that was going to be provided. We have to remember that the Eagle Forum has been in existence for a long time and is not completely in tune with the makeup of the Tea Party Movement.
Believe me, they are wanting to and we will help them! They will be a valuable allie in our quest to re-establish our Constitutional Republic. (This is Not a Democracy!)
