Liberty and Freedom

I am more than just a little disappointed in responses I'm hearing about obama care. Too often I hear our best choice politicians saying they want to just get the Abortion stuff out of it and maybe a few more tweaks here and there. Have our collective voices faded in the wind being drowned out by the lying blow hard mainstream media? The theme in DC this past Sept 12 was "Repeal, Reduce, Restore" I don't know how many times some got their three "R's" confused. Two words that were definitely not used were "Reform or Replace". Those were not there for good reason. This obama care is unconstitutional and will lead to further the control of government in every aspect of our lives. We must not compromise our principals.

obama Care must just be repealed with nothing in its place - - - - REPEAL

We must reduce the size of this cancerous government - - - - REDUCE

We must put the Constitution back where it belongs - - - - RESTORE

Stay on target and all candidates must here us. CAN THEY HEAR US NOW MORE THAN EVER?

Has anyone except for Newt even considering getting the whole thing repealed?

Like this... no 'individual mandate' (buy or go to jail), no Obamacare

THE 10th Amendment... suits are happening... by State Representatives, mainly A'sG.

Thank you for comments Diane and James. Not funding is understood and allowing the free market to work will help, but I wish we could have a vocal spirit of defiance to unconstitutional acts like this. I would hope this spirit would be contagious and resonate across this land. I was feeling as if we were just accepting it. Thanks again for some reassurance.

Thanks for the clarification Wally. I missed the Oct 7th meeting due to a conflict of meeting schedules. But I have to point out the three people you mention are state representatives and are not able to do anything about Obamacare. I agree with you James, though there are reforms they could make that would actually do some good, like take action on tort reform and portability of policies. Real fixes would only take about a 3 page bill. The best idea I have heard other than outright repeal is to simply not fund it, which would in effect kill it. In order to repeal they would not just have to pass that measure but also override a certain presidential veto, which would most likely be impossible to do.

I've heard 'repeal and replace', but not repair. If legislators are planning on 'replacing' Obamacare with something else, then those that do still don't get it. It is not the purview of the Federal Government to enact, institute and administer Health Insurance on a Federal level. At most, they could legislate Health Insurance differences between the States; i.e. allow for the purchase of HI across State lines. That would be a real improvement, as the free market would expand competition between companies, and the consumer would get wider choices in policies.

@ Diane: No one said "repair" that was my word. At SMC Tyler says last night something about working to get the Abortion out of the bill and I had the impression from our Oct 7th meeting in Cass that Lori thought there should be something. Proos stated that he thought repeal may not be likely. I hope that they can all clarify that they will be for repeal and nothing short of that. I was most concerned about the kids a SMC getting the wrong idea. Even if repeal was not likely I would not want to make it insignificant in any way as vitally important as it really is. I offer my apologies to Tyler, Lori and Proos if I at all misunderstood. If I did however it still needs to be extremely clear that we must satisfy our absolute need to hear the commitment to repeal the unconstitutional obama care.

Can you be specific on who is saying 'repair'? I think we should know who would suggest this and we contact them personally.
