Comment by Janet Blazen on April 10, 2012 at 11:35am Don, I don't use CAPITOL letters to "yell" I use them because I think the point I'm making is VERY important and should at least be looked at...........When YOU used them in last comment to me,""""CAPITOL LETTERS ARE USED" see what I mean ? """" to me it just showed me that you are trying REALLY hard to make your point recognized. I didn't take the LEAST bit of it as "yelling" :-) When I talk in person I would say certain words in a different tone to express myself to a persone to make a point VERY clear. When you talk in print sometimes it's hard to do that ! In this day in age it seems no one talks in person anymore and people seem to be incapable of communicating at all..............Sorry, I come from the OLD school and would rather talk in person. If I talked to you in person you would understand me VERY well and I'm SURE you would NOT take offense ! ;-)
Comment by Don Shemel on April 9, 2012 at 8:12am Janet, I am just saying that your tone is perceived differently when CAPITAL LETTERS ARE USED. See what I mean? Anyway the art of blogging is to get people engaged in the conversation, and most people may read what is printed but they may not respond. If one feels like they are being yelled at or that they will be criticized by their response, they are not as likely to write a response. I have a much better chance of engaging people in a discussion when I don't yell or criticize them for not responding. Thank you for your efforts, and I hope you do not think I am lecturing because I am not. I had a great Easter, as I know that Christ has risen!
Comment by Janet Blazen on April 8, 2012 at 8:25pm Don, When I use CAPITOL letters, I am not yelling but if I don't use them it would make it look like I was talking in a "monotone" and not ONE BIT interesting ! When I talk, I talk with expression, when I write, I write with expression. CAPITOL letters seems to do the trick..........If you notice we ARE talking now when no one else seems to be ?
Hope you had a nice EASTER ?
Always like a good conversation with someone who is willing and knows something to talk about ?
Comment by Don Shemel on April 8, 2012 at 5:33pm Janet,..... I was complimenting you. I suppose I was concerned though when you use capital letters in your question. Capital lettering often means a person is shouting at others. I wish to create great dialog with others and create an atmosphere where informed people can have a conversation. You are well informed and well intentioned, I am sure, so I ask that you not be offended by my comments, as they are not intended to be offensive.
Comment by Janet Blazen on April 7, 2012 at 9:58am Don, If you noticed I put this in a QUESTION form ? The reason I posted as I did was to "entice" someone/anyone to comment on these posts that people have taken time out of their life to post. I noticed that NO ONE was commenting and I thought the reason for this COMMENT site was to "comment". It just gets a little discouraging and seems a waste of time for those who are trying to "inform" and to also "be informed" when they get no feedback ?...............
I fail to see how THIS blog wasn't an invitation to be interactive.........It worked ! We now have a dialogue going don't we ?
Thanks for the "interaction", Janet :-)
Comment by Don Shemel on April 7, 2012 at 8:16am Janet, I picked up this definition of a blog and after reading it, please consider using the blog as if you were talking to your friends and neighbors. This will lead to better discussions and will build relationships that you can trust and count on in the future. Please consider this part of the definition: Although not a must, most good quality blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other via GUI widgets on the blogs and it is this interactivity that distinguishes them from other static websites.[2] In that sense, blogging can be seen as a form of social networking. Indeed, bloggers do not only produce content to post on their blogs but also build social relations with their readers and other bloggers.[3]
Comment by Janet Blazen on March 31, 2012 at 5:03pm Thanks for your response............I have just noticed that there have been MANY interesting posts for several WEEKS and absolutely NO ONE has commented. I just wondered if there was anyone was still around ?
As far as a "keyboard commando", We "all" have work and other things to do but you would think there would be "some" remarks about "some" posts ? After all this group is pretty large and it's hard to believe that there was no interest from anyone ?...............The reason I "worded my post" the way I did is to "entice" someone to comment to see if anyone was reading anything on this site ? .... It worked ! Now I wish someone would comment on the ones that are interesting and NOT just this one ? If you had time to read this one why not the other's......I think one of the things that this site has going for it is to "inform" and be "informed?" Otherwise, what's the point ?
Janet,
Not quite sure what point you are trying to make. Most of us are not "keyboard commandos" sitting in front of a computer screen for hours on end responding to every blog post that finds our screen. The Tea Party is made up of people doing things to restore our republic to the Founders' vision. Please help me understand what your concern is, then I can reply more effectively.
