Liberty and Freedom

This is a space to coordinate actions in support of our mission to conduct pickup of potatoes and pastries on Friday the 16th of December and supply them to the 'A Kalamazoo Christmas' effort.

Immediate need is for two, half ton or better pickup trucks to go to the donor's farm just off of US131, south of Schoolcraft Friday Morning.  We will use this blog to communicate in a central place.

A Mission for Patriots.

We have accepted a mission in support of 'A Kalamazoo Christmas'.  The event takes place on December 18th and needs lots of volunteers (I just looked and it just went over 201 on the way to the 300 we need).   The web site is www.akalamazoochristmas.org; check them out.

We have trucks and people from SW Michigan Patriots lined up for transport missions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week and I thank those who have volunteered time and trucks.  However we do have to execute a Potato Pickup on Friday (16th) morning at a large farm operation between Schoolcraft and Three Rivers just off of US131 and deliver to the church on Stockbridge Ave. in Kalamazoo.

We also need to execute a Pastry Pickup in Battle Creek on Friday and will need a large van for that.  I am working to arrange the van, but will need one or two folks to volunteer to drive over to Battle Creek to pick up the pies and cakes.

So right now we need two half ton or better pickup trucks to execute the Potato Caper.  The plan is to pick up several heavy duty cardboard boxes at our sorting center near the airport; take them to the pickup spot south of Schoolcraft where they will be filled via the bucket of a front end loader from bulk supplies.  Then they will be delivered to the Stockbridge Ave. Church where they will be prepared on Saturday for the Sunday dinner.

We will be picking up 2,000 pounds of potatoes, which will be loaded from loose bulk storage, hence we will need two pickup trucks, unless someone has a one ton that could be used.

Please respond by commenting on the following blog on the Ning site.  I will also re post this note there:

We a looking for a project coordinator for this also, as I have to be in Coldwater on Friday training a new group of Patroits.

I think we should leave for the farm between 9 and 10 am to make sure we are back and unloaded by noon.
